Size and WeightSize and Weight

Every item has a Size ⇲ and Weight ⚖. An item's size and weight is shown on the tooltip, which appears when you hover over it with your mouse.

Size ⇲

Size determines what storage blocks an item can fit inside of.

  • Tiny items fit in anything.
  • Very Small items fit in anything.
  • Small items are the largest item that will fit in Small Vessels.
  • Normal items are the largest that will fit in Large Vessels.

  • Large items are the largest that will fit in Chests. Pit Kilns can hold four.
  • Very Large items are placed alone in Pit Kilns.
  • Huge items do not fit in any normal storage device. They also count towards overburdening.
Weight ⚖

Weight determines the max stack size of items.

  • Very Light: 64
  • Light: 32
  • Medium: 16
  • Heavy: 4
  • Very Heavy: 1


Most items are Very Light by default. Blocks are usually Medium.

Overburdening happens when you carry items that are both Huge and Very Heavy. Carrying just one Huge, Very Heavy item causes you to become exhausted, making your food burn quicker. Carrying two or more gives you the Overburdened status effect, which makes movement very slow.

Items that count towards overburdening include Anvils, Sealed Barrels, Crucibles (with contents)

Note: Horses can also be overburdened.
